David Cardamone's martial art quotes on Facebook
I believe martial arts training isn't just physical, but also mental and other things. I believe in the convergence of art and martial arts for better training and productivity
Martial arts is amazing. It turns me into a winner. I am a loser without it. Since I went to a dojo in 2015 I had 2 art shows, one at Living Arts during art Walk, one at Liggett Studio. And I had 4 film festival showings, and about 10 music gigs.
Without martial arts, I regress and slacken, and become a pussy fairy, with no ambition or drive. I develop bad habits and fall into low self esteem and sink. Because I am deaf and people hate the deaf, my ego and esteem sinks and sinks and sinks and sinks.
But, when I do martial arts, my confidence sours and I develop a warrior spirit to help fight my problems and my opponents, figuratively and metaphorically, like obstacles. I then have that personality to do better in life.
But without martial arts, I change into a loser, into somebody I do not like. And I cannot live my life as that loser person.
I love martial arts. Its just amazing. It brings out special gifts in people. When I was 17 I took LSD during a high school class road trip to the museum I did 360 kicks in two counter-clockwise loops on the narrow rim of the water fountain. It was about 8 inches wide. The precarious balance and the performance of the 360 kicks was very skillful and I have never seen a martial artist do that, not even a Shaolin Master.
Martial arts teaches one not to overestimate or underestimate our opponents. It's the same with judging other people, it shows most people are wrong when they judge other people and label/generalize them.
Deaf Martial Arts Matter
Simplified, there are three words that martial arts builds:
Confidence
Self Control
Respect.
One should act in accordance with these things. The confidence to chase ones dreams. The self control to just not do bad habits, but to actually take action on ones ambitions, and respect, not just respect those around you but to respect yourself through self defense not just literally but metaphorically.
As Kung Fu is the beginning of martial arts and means "How to Live" I am discussing Kung Fu philosophy so when I use the word Kung Fu I am referring to it's meaning and use martial arts philosophy.
As most dojos are martial arts and therefore are meant for students to learn 'how to live', as we learn to be 'our own best friend' by learning self-defense to defend ourselves and to strike our opponents to win, to be winners, and to better ourselves, that means, that if a dojo teaches a blind student, the blind student learns to make blindness an asset, a friend, a positive aspect of oneself, rather than making blindness an enemy, we make it a friend. In this regard, there are some redneck dojos that discriminate against the deaf but I am not naming names at this moment.
But truly, marital arts is meant to teach people to be their own best friend, using all their faults, weaknesses, strengths, differences, to their advantage.
Miyamoto Mushashi, said, "I do not need to be bigger, or stronger, or have any more of what I am. I use myself to the best I can be".
When people say: "Martial arts is barbaric" or "I dont like martial arts"
They're stupid. Because Kung Fu means "How to Live" it trains and helps people learn to live in a barbaric, wild, corrupted, and dangerous world. Some people think they have the luxury to live like lazy slobs with no martial arts discipline but they're wrong and at risk.
The more one does martial arts one soars and soars. The less one does it one sinks and sinks.
No fight promoters sex life is worth more in value than my martial arts career. Fugly fatass Nazi honey pot whores need to be deported to Nazi countries.
Sooner or later everyone is going to need to learn martial arts to protect themselves or get hurt in this world. If it isn't like that alright. Shit is hitting the fan that people are literally washing their hands and wiping down everything.
It seems like I need to be the very best martial arts to I can be in order to live a better life. A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, and with skilled martial arts master steps ones walk through life can be a master of life. Be a master of martial arts, be a master of life.
The philosophy of martial arts, self defense, is about living fully. Defending oneself not just from enemies, but from being one's own worst enemy and bad situations. The spirit of martial arts is to live fully.
As martial arts is the study of self defense, it is the study of loving life. Ones live of life and yest for life must be strong, and defend this love and yest for life.
Martial arts is the Swiss Army Knife of sports. You learn how to protect yourself and others, self-defense, and you can use this knowledge in a wide variety of jobs like security/combat/agent/operative/etc and so much. I mean, what can you get out of playing with a ball?? seriously. Nothing much outside of it. But marital arts you can act as a marital artist, choreography, etc. Ball sports dont make sense but at least it keeps the world diverse.
I dont understand why Im the only one in my family who is a martial artist except for a few occassions well my brother got his brown belt but stopped, and my cousin Jason got a few belts, and My aunt is a black belt in samurai sword Iaido (sword draws), and my nephew Bazil is taking up BJJ/MMA/Muay Thai and has taken some Kung Fu. But I feel that my struggles with marital arts discipline would have been better with more support. However, my shrink has a lot to do with that. My shrink doesnt like martial arts. I hate my shrink Id tie him up and have elephants shit on him to death.
My martial arts philosophy is that there is always fighting, not just literally but figuratively. One must defend oneself against being one's own enemy, by making the effort to be one's own best friend. Just as you take an effort to stole a man who is attacking you, you have to take that effort into everything else, like achieving your goals, ambitions, chasing desires, being gutsy, seizing opportunities. Do what you like and you'll like yourself more.
I wish to start an organization called
'Martial Arts Against Nazis in Dojos'. We prevent Nazis from trying to harm Jews and minorities in the fight scene.
'Martial Arts Against Nazis in Dojos'. We prevent Nazis from trying to harm Jews and minorities in the fight scene.
I am honest to admit that without martial arts building a strong man out of me, to deal with life's problems, I would be nothing. It's hard for my family to understand this because they are not deaf. They don't understand that rule number one is that the hearing world will try to break and destroy the deaf man. They think combat sports are barbaric and don't understand the philosophy and discipline of martial arts that is character building and helping students face a shitty world. They think people can be successful without martial arts, but, that's hearing people. Deaf people are utterly wasted by a corrupt deaf hating world where the worst in people are brought out when they see a deaf person.
Martial arts is akin to people-building, creating a strong, indomitable character that is unbroken and resistant to other people's bullshit. The better a fighter is the more successful he is in the world.
Martial arts is the study and mastery of life. Life is in the form of a human striking you. You have to dodge, and block life's negative attacks and counter-attack negative life with positive life. The human form, is the most accurate form to measure by which life is, therefore martial arts is the study and mastery of life.
Life is a fight. Life is a fighter striking you. Martial arts teaches you to strike back at life and win.
I embarrassingly admit that psychiatric prescriptions took away 7 years of martial arts training. I was brainwashed. Something else was in those prescriptions. In any case, the lesson learned here is that the sharper and better my martial arts is, the more progressive I am in my goals. When I am not training, I regress and fall short of my life goals, I had such a hard time in art school when I was taking psychiatric prescriptions. However, now that I am training in a dojo, I had an art show and have more shows coming up, and I've had music gigs and have been keeping up with life goals.
In modern times people struggle with martial arts discipline due to work, psychiatric manipulation causing personality changes, lifestyle changes, but there are times when people have to train to survive.
I don't believe in a life without martial arts. A life without martial arts means more trouble, less discipline, and less ambition
Martial arts philosophy is about making good choices. Defending yourself, blocking yr opponents attacks, defeating yr opponent, are good choices. Same in life.
